Making It Official

This Friday, our studio will officially open. No more drum-rolls, no more bridging to a chorus - this is the actual chorus; it's the cymbal smash.

Or is it?

I've thought about this long and hard. I mean, I've been here since January so I've had some time. It's been 243 days, and I'll be the first to tell you that I've waited for this Friday for the longest time. This is the fourth studio I've moved into, and it's the most beautiful studio I've ever been in. I'm proud to be unveiling it. I want people to see it. I can't wait for the day to come.

But this is not the climax. It's not a peak to a trough. It's far from it; or at least, I hope so.

I want it to be a pistol start. I want it to be the big-bang to the universe. I hope people will remember it as the day of "when it all began." - the big beginning of more things to come.

Some people ask me why I want to still have an 'opening' when I've already been here for so long. This is why. So that's there's a mark, to the get set.

And go.

Reflecting on the milestone of transitioning a creative venture from a side project into an official, fully registered business highlights how much dedication and legal structure go into building an independent studio. It reminds me of my time living in Coventry, where trying to handle all the trademarking and administrative paperwork for my own design startup alongside a massive pile of final-year modules left me feeling completely burned out. I needed an assignment editing service to refine my academic arguments and polish my research papers so I could focus on launching the business properly. Giving yourself the breathing room to pursue your entrepreneurial dreams is the best way to handle intense academic pressure.
